Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were anticipating more assaults.
